Playlist Friday: Hearts and Love

Playlist Friday’s theme is full of Hearts and Love in time for the upcoming Valentine’s Day. There are songs of Red Hearts, Stained Glass Hearts, Paper Hearts, broken Hearts and songs of happy Love, sexy Love and angry bitter Love. Whatever your mood and however you feel about Valentine’s Day there is probably a song or two on the playlist for you.

Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is an annual holiday celebrated on February 14. It originated as a Western Christian liturgical feast day honoring one or more early saints named Valentinus, and is recognized as a significant cultural and commercial celebration in many regions around the world, although it is not a public holiday in any country. Wikipedia has some more info about the day.

Valentine’s is a day to celebrate romance and love and cards, flowers and chocolates and other commercial tokens of affection. Maybe you use the day to let that crush know how you feel or remind that special someone in your life of just how much you care about them. Or maybe you just want a way to get some sexy time or maybe you want a way to say love sucks. Music is a great way to express some of these emotions and the playlist today may just help with that.

Good morning! My wife not being from here but eastern Europe never celebrated Valentine’s day. So for her I always say, “Every day is Valentine’s day”. Lucky for me she has no expectations, although once in awhile I’ll surprise her.

BTW – I can’t see the playlist yet, being on my work’s network, spotify is blocked, but I’ll have a listen later!

I really don’t know about Valentine’s Day much. I was usually single for it. I don’t think it that big a deal but a nice surprise is always pleasant.

Sorry about Spotify being blocked. I just find it the easiest for me but if there is another way to be doing the playlists I am open to trying. YouTube didn’t really work when I attempted that.

Good morning!

I”m not a Valentine’s person at all. Never really have been, single or paired, it just seems to me like a commercial excuse to prove to someone how much you love them. I’m pretty cynical about most holidays though.

Ya soundcloud is blocked too. But not to worry it’s the stupid folks at City of Toronto, they allow “certain” types of streaming, i.e. Video, which makes no sense.

I’m still working on the playlist player! Sorry haven’t had time lately. But I’m trying to figure out how to input my old cbc Music playlists and output new ones, etc. All using the CBC Music APIs.

it was pretty bad; deep and almost from nose to lip so just about a flap. luckily he had in a mouth guard or he probably would have lost some teeth. head injuries make me nervous so i called in an ambulance for the guy.
