Meet the Searchlight Final Four

CBC Music have announced the final four acts for this years Searchlight. Three of them were chosen by their celebrity judges, Ruth B., Dan Kanter and Jarvis Church with the fourth being the result being determined by popular vote. All four will compete for the grand prize at the televised finale to be broadcast on CBC on April 9.

A new collection of Stompin’ Tom Connors’s music will be available for Canada Day after his family signed a deal with a music rights management company to further the brand of the singer. The collection may feature some tracks that have never been heard before.

Explore Canadian Music History Online with New National Music Centre Collection Archive

The new website, called NMC Collections Online, is a digital exhibit of the NMC’s impressive gallery. The physical museum in Calgary houses over 2,000 historic artifacts and spans over 450 years of Canadian culture and technology. 150 of its entries are immediately available online, and about twice as many are planned by the end of 2017!

The Earl of Whitchurch in Stouffville, Ont., is celebrated St. Patrick’s Day just like any other pub — with live music and booze. Except that when it was time for last call, the doors won’t close and the music won’t stop — for at least another 16 days if all goes well.
