Our Basement:

The sentiment of the experiences I write about are not original. In my music, I often describe universal feelings and common occurrences. This is how I make my songs relatable. The authenticity comes from how I choose to express these feelings and deconstruct these events. This is certainly the case when it comes to my new single, “Miss Him Too,”. The song describes a situation where one partner in a relationship has changed for the worse – the hook pretty much says it all: You miss the man you fell in love with, well honey, I miss him too.
Often, when you try and tell someone you love that they have changed, they react defensively. It’s something that I think a lot of couples struggle with. This song describes the idealized response to this criticism; I think it’s what most people wish their partner would say or do. While I was writing this tune, I wanted to emphasize that this is a dramatic response and maybe a bit of a romanticized one. To do this, I pictured this as the last opportunity to get the girl back and imagined the guy trying to get to her as fast as he could. It makes the song sound like a chase. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to hear “Miss Him Too.” I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.

I should have added this to last Thursdays releases but I forgot to do that so instead I am mentioning them here and now (please forgive me). While I am not goodly with the words for the describing of the musics I think this sounds great and I want to buy the CD (I’m old school) and can hardly wait to see what they have planned in the future.
