I want to give you a musical hug this week. January 21st was National Hug Day and I don’t know about you, but I miss hugs! At least I can give virtual musical hugs out, so I created a playlist on the theme in the hope that we could all feel comforted by the music.

National Hugging Day is an annual event dedicated to hugging. It was created by Kevin Zaborney and occurs annually on January 21st. The day was first celebrated on January 21, 1986 in Clio, Michigan, USA. The holiday is also observed in many other countries. The idea of National Hug Day is to encourage everyone to hug family and friends more often. Zaborney cautions to ask first if one is unsure of the response as respecting the personal space of others is always important and some people are not huggers. (Source: Wikipedia)

This year we could use hugs more than ever but Covid is making that difficult. Maybe you have family in your bubble to share a hug with. If not, you can hug a pet, send virtual hugs, or give yourself a hug, and there is always music to get us through. The playlist this week, on Spotify and YouTube, has songs on the theme of hugging, closeness, and togetherness. My musical hug to you.
