Just like a good fire needs air, every relationship needs space. People can get really attached in a codependent relationship.
My new song, “Light Shine In,” taken from my upcoming record out on April 16th, is about being independent and finding fullness within yourself, but also knowing that at the end of the day it’s nice to have someone that has your back.
At the time of writing, I was playing a lot of shows and driving long hours between gigs, which led me to feeling strained and burnt out. “Light Shine In” emerged as a lament about missing home.
My new record was co-produced by Mike Wise (Ellie Goulding, James Blunt, Britney Spears) and myself. We sought to create a timeless feeling to these songs, working closely to perfect the production on each track.
I hope that you can hear the sincerity and conscious blend of influences on “Light Shine In” and the forthcoming songs I will be sharing with you.
