The culmination of a decade-long project, 20C Remix features music from the last century reimagined by seven of today’s leading Canadian composers. These new pieces showcase the composers’ individual voices while still conveying the essence of the original works. Featuring Jocelyn Morlock reimagining Ann Coutham, Nicole Lizée deconstructing and reconstructing Dead or Alive and Justin Timberlake, and works from Jordan Nobles, Jennifer Butler, Christopher Mayo, Bekah Simms and Jared Miller, available now from Redshift Records. Embracing both 20th-century tech and 21st-century trends, 20C Remix will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl for a limited edition run.

Recorded at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts with recording engineer Will Howie, 20C Remix is Standing Wave’s most accomplished album both in terms of performance and quality of the recording. Will Howie is recognized around the world as a leading figure in recording techniques and innovation; working with the ensemble in the superior acoustics of the Chan Centre, Will created an audio experience that captures and showcases Standing Wave’s virtuosic performances with detail, depth and warmth.
